Race photos found by face, not by bib number

Bibs get folded, covered by jackets or hidden behind the runner in front. With SpotMe, each runner takes one selfie and sees every photo they are in, from the start pen to the medal table.

Free forever on 10 GB. Every feature on every plan.

At a glance

  • No bib to read

A runner’s photos turn up even when the number is crumpled, pinned low or under a rain jacket.

  • Every shooter, one event

Photographers at the 5 km mark, the water station and the finish all upload into the same race.

  • Ready for the post-race post

Runners download a sharp mobile copy for Instagram or the full-resolution original for a print.

Why bib numbers miss so many photos

Bib tagging only works when the number is readable. On a real course, a lot of them aren’t. The bib is pinned to shorts, folded under a hydration belt, flapping sideways in the wind, or blocked by the runner alongside.

Faces are easier. A runner who is visible in the frame can be matched, wherever their bib happens to be. Our face recognition is 99.99% accurate on real event photos and copes with caps, sunglasses and side-on angles.

It isn’t magic. A runner whose face is fully hidden behind someone else, or turned completely away from the camera, won’t match. On a course where photographers shoot runners coming towards them, those frames are a small share of the set.

10,000 runners, one link

Big races mean big numbers in every direction: thousands of participants, tens of thousands of photos, and an organiser’s helpdesk that dreads the week after.

One link replaces all of it. The organiser sends it in the post-race email or the participant WhatsApp group. Each runner verifies their mobile number with a one-time code, takes a selfie and sees their photos in about a second. There is no app to install and no account to create.

Every plan includes unlimited guests and face searches. A 10,000-runner city marathon costs the same as a 200-person corporate run, because you pay for storage, not people.

Shooters at every kilometre

A half marathon might have eight photographers spread over 21 km. With team accounts, each one uploads their cards into the same event under their own login.

Use folders for each spot (Start, Km 10 water station, Finish line, Medal area) so the organiser can find the shots they need for next year’s brochure. A single upload can hold 40,000+ photos, and uploads resume if a connection drops at the race venue. Your editor can also publish straight from Lightroom Classic with our plugin.

Photos reach runners after you upload and click Find faces, not during the race. Most teams share the link the same evening or the next morning.

Downloads made for sharing

Every photo comes in two sizes:

  • Mobile, a 2048-pixel copy that is quick to save and post on Instagram or Strava.
  • Original, the full-resolution file you uploaded, for a framed print of the finish.

Your watermark sits on both, so every finish-line photo shared on social carries your name. If the organiser would rather sell prints, switch original downloads off and use the print store.

Cyclothons, corporate leagues and prize nights

The same setup works for cyclothons, triathlons, corporate cricket leagues and school sports meets. Anywhere lots of people are photographed in motion and each of them wants their own frames.

Most sports events end with a prize distribution or a team dinner. Add it as another folder in the same event, and the runners who searched in the morning see those photos on the same link.

How it works

  1. Create the race event

Add folders for each spot on the course and set your watermark. Invite your photographers with team accounts.

  2. Every photographer uploads

Each shooter uploads their cards into the same event after the race. Uploads resume after a dropped connection.

  3. Click Find faces

SpotMe matches every face across the course, so each runner’s gallery is ready when they search.

  4. Send one link to runners

The organiser shares it by email or WhatsApp. Runners verify their number, take a selfie and download their photos.

Common questions

Do runners need their bib number to find photos?

No. They take a selfie and SpotMe finds every photo their face appears in, whether or not the bib is readable.

Does it work with caps and sunglasses?

Yes, glasses and caps are fine as long as part of the face is visible. A face that is completely hidden or turned away from the camera won’t match.

Can several photographers upload to the same race?

Yes. With team accounts, each photographer uploads into the same event under their own login, with roles you set.

Can runners see photos while the race is still on?

No. Photos are delivered after you upload and click Find faces, usually the same evening or the next morning.

Is there a charge per runner or per search?

No. Every plan includes unlimited guests and face searches. You pay a yearly amount for storage, and deleting an old race gives the space back.
