Data Deletion Instructions

Effective 26 September 2026, version 2026-09-26

SpotMe is operated by HPK AI Labs, Ahmedabad, India.

This page explains how to delete your data from SpotMe, operated by HPK AI Labs. For full details of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.

1. Guests and couples: contact the photographer

Guests and couples cannot delete event data themselves in SpotMe. The photographer who created the event owns the photos and decides how the event's data is kept, so deletion requests go to the photographer:

  1. Contact the photographer (their studio name is shown on the event's login screen and gallery), or ask the couple for their contact details.
  2. Tell them which event it is and what you want deleted, for example your name, mobile number and face template (guests), your favourites and highlights (couples), or particular photos of you.
  3. The photographer can delete the data in their SpotMe dashboard, for example by deleting the photos concerned or the whole event. Deleting an event permanently removes its photos, face data, and guest and couple records.

If you cannot reach the photographer, or they do not act on your request within 15 days, contact our Grievance Officer as described in Section 4. We will forward your request to the photographer and follow it up, and where the law requires it we will act on it ourselves.

2. Photographers

  1. Log in to your dashboard and open Profile.
  2. Choose Delete Account and confirm.

Your access is revoked immediately. Your events, photos, face data, and guest and couple records are kept for 7 days (so that an accidental deletion can be reversed on request) and are then permanently deleted. As required by Rule 3(1)(h) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we keep your registration information (studio name, email address and mobile number) and consent records for 180 days after deletion, and then delete them.

You can also delete individual photos or whole events from your dashboard at any time. Permanently deleting an event deletes its photos, face data, and guest and couple records.

3. People who appear in event photos

If you appear in an event's photos, whether or not you have used SpotMe, the photographer who uploaded them is the right person to ask. Contact them first, as described in Section 1.

4. Contacting our Grievance Officer

Use this if you could not reach the photographer, or they did not act on your request within 15 days. Email spotme@hpklabs.ai with the subject "Data deletion request" and include:

  • the event link, or the photographer's studio name and the event name;
  • the mobile number or email address you used on SpotMe, if any;
  • if you appear in photos but never used SpotMe, a recent photo of yourself or a description that helps us find the photos concerned; and
  • what you would like deleted.

We may verify your identity before acting. We will respond within 30 days. For photos uploaded by a photographer, we will work with the photographer to delete the photos or the face data concerned, and we will confirm to you when it is done.

5. What happens after deletion

  • Deleted data is removed from the Service immediately or within the periods stated above.
  • Copies in our rolling backups expire within 7 days.
  • We may keep specific data for longer only where the law requires it (for example, payment records for tax purposes, or records we must preserve under an order of a court or authority).
