What goes in stays in
SpotMe takes JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP files up to 50 MB each, and more than 40,000 photos in a single upload. Your folders come across as they are. If your candid shooter worked on an iPhone, the HEIC files go in with everything else, no converting first.
Once a file lands, we leave it alone. We don’t resize it, re-save it or strip it down. The colour profile you exported with and the camera data inside the file stay exactly where they were, because the original is never opened and saved again.
That matters most on the frames you care about: a close portrait where you can count the stones in the kundan set, or a mehendi detail where every line of the design is sharp at 100%.
Quick galleries without shrinking your work
Full-size files are heavy, and nobody wants to wait for a 20 MB photo to load in a grid. So when each photo uploads, we also make a few lightweight WebP previews: small ones for the grid, a larger one for the full-screen viewer.
The gallery shows a soft blurred placeholder first, then the preview sharpens in its place. A 4,000-photo reception folder scrolls comfortably on a mid-range Android phone on 4G.
Those previews are for looking. They are compressed on purpose, because that’s what makes them fast. When someone wants to keep a photo, they choose a download, and that’s where quality comes back in.
Original or mobile, the guest decides
Every photo, on both the couple and guest links, offers two downloads:
- Original. Full resolution. With no watermark, it’s the exact file you uploaded. With a watermark, it’s a full-resolution, high-quality JPEG with your mark on it, which takes a few seconds to prepare.
- Mobile. 2048 pixels on the long side. Quick to save on 4G, and the right size for a WhatsApp status or an Instagram post.
Your watermark, if you’ve set one, is on both. The stored original never changes either way.
If you sell prints or albums and would rather hold back full-size files, you can switch original downloads off for an event. Guests then get the mobile copy only.
Why WhatsApp is hard on photographers
Send a photo the normal way on WhatsApp and it is resized and compressed to a small fraction of the file you exported. Forward it again and it loses a little more. By the time the bride’s mama-ji posts it to his society group, skin has gone blotchy, the sky in your sunset portrait has turned to bands of colour, and the zari on the dupatta is mush.
Your name is still attached to that photo. People judge your work by the worst copy they see.
The other problem is printing. A guest who loves a family portrait takes the WhatsApp copy to the local lab and orders a 12×18. It comes out soft, and nobody blames WhatsApp.
When guests download from your gallery, the copy that travels is the one you delivered. Elsewhere, delivery apps usually resize to around 2,000 pixels or charge credits for full-resolution downloads, which pushes guests back to forwarded copies. Common questions
Does SpotMe compress my photos?
Your originals are never compressed or altered. The gallery uses lightweight WebP previews so it loads quickly, and every download is either the full-resolution original or a 2048-pixel mobile copy.
What file types and sizes can I upload?
JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP, up to 50 MB per photo. You can upload more than 40,000 photos in a single upload, with your folders kept.
If I set a watermark, is the original download still full resolution?
Yes. Guests get a full-resolution, high-quality JPEG with your watermark on it. The original file in storage is never changed.
Can I upload RAW files?
No. SpotMe is for delivering finished photos, so export JPEG, TIFF or HEIC from your editing software. Guests can’t open RAW files on their phones anyway.
Can I stop guests downloading the full-size originals?
Yes. You can switch original downloads off for an event, so guests get only the 2048-pixel mobile copy, or turn downloads off completely so the gallery is view-only.
