Sandhu Studios checked 140 photos for a wrong match and found none

Harpreet Sandhu didn’t trust face matching until he audited a full gallery himself. Now his studio delivers every Brampton wedding on SpotMe, from 800-guest receptions to small anand karaj ceremonies.

Before SpotMe

Sandhu Studios shoots South Asian weddings across the Greater Toronto Area: Punjabi weddings in Brampton and Mississauga, Gujarati weddings in Scarborough and Markham. Receptions of 600 to 800 guests are normal, and families fly in from Punjab, Gujarat, England and California.

Harpreet had tried a guest-gallery service before and stopped after two weddings. Matches were unreliable on turbaned guests and older men with full beards, and he spent more time correcting galleries than he saved.

So when he came to SpotMe, he wasn’t looking for features. He was looking for a reason not to trust it.

“If a guest gets someone else’s photos, that’s a privacy problem with my name on it. If they miss their own, that’s a phone call. Either way it lands on me.”

His fallback was the old one: a full gallery link for everyone and a lot of scrolling.

Making the switch

Harpreet ran his first SpotMe wedding with the team still preparing the old full-gallery link as a backup.

After the upload and Find faces, he opened the guest view with the bride’s aunt, who had been on stage for half the reception. Her gallery had about 140 photos. He went through every one looking for a wrong match, then checked the people view in the couple gallery for her uncle, her cousins and the groom’s grandfather in his turban. He didn’t find a mistake.

The friction came elsewhere. He wanted galleries on his own domain, and setting up the custom domain needed a DNS change that his nephew, who manages the studio website, had to make. It took a day of back and forth with us before it went live.

His second shooter also had to learn the folder setup. The studio now uses the same folder names, function by function, on every wedding.

What changed

Harpreet stopped checking galleries after that first event. The studio has delivered 22 weddings on SpotMe so far in 2026, the largest an 800-guest reception at a banquet hall in Mississauga.

Guests open the link on their phones without installing anything, which matters for grandparents visiting from Ludhiana who would never set up an app. Relatives in India and England get their photos the same day as the guests in Brampton.

The couple gallery became part of his packages. Brides use the people view to find every photo of a grandparent, and the favourites they mark on one phone show up on their partner’s laptop when they sit down to pick album photos.

The galleries carry the studio’s logo and live on its own domain, so guests see Sandhu Studios from the first tap.

“My couples compare notes with their friends. Nobody has asked me to go back to the old way.”

“I’m the kind of photographer who checks everything twice. I gave it one wedding and the hardest gallery I could find, the aunt who was in every family photo. When I couldn’t find a single wrong photo in 140, I let it go. My team hasn’t opened a backup link since.”
